Annie Audition in NYC, Friday/Saturday

Abby and her mom went up to New York City on Friday, June 1 for the Annie audition. We stayed at a hotel close to Chelsea studios. The hotel room was small even by New York City standards and we were on a low floor so we could hear a lot of noise from the outdoor bar we were above. We went out for a quick bite to eat and turned on the air conditioner to drown out the noise and tried to get a good night sleep. We got up around 7am and got a bite to eat in the hotel restaurant. The food was not very good but we had enough to eat and found the Whole Food Market a block or two away and we got some snacks and drinks for Abby to eat at the audition. We got in line around 8:30am and it moved really really quickly. Abby was in Group 3 of the audition. She made it thru the first singing round. She did this last time so we were hoping she would again. The last time she auditioned for Annie she got cut in the dance round. When she made it thru the dance round this time we were really just happy with that. She continued to make the cuts thru the day. Chelsea studios were so so hot that day. I am glad Abby was dressed in shorts and a tank top. The audition day finally ended sometime between 6:30pm and 7pm. She was asked to come back for more auditions the next day with 39 other girls. We were both tired and sweaty. We decided to clean up and just take a taxi over to TGIF Fridays. We were not adventurous at this point and just wanted a quick bite to eat and a little bit of a walk and back to bed. Once again, the hotel bar was noisy but not as bad as Friday night.
