A Blog of Abby's Experience
Performance in York, PA

We arrived into York late in the afternoon on Monday. The weather was absolutely beautiful. I am more of a Northeast kind of girl. It was hot, around 90 degrees but there was not humidity. What I would call and Indian summer kind of day. The hotel was really nice. An old historic hotel. It was clean and the rooms were large and it was decorated beautifully. The town was so nice and quaint too. Abby and I went around the town a bit to see what there was. We went out to eat with the Madison and Jaida and there mom and grandmother. We found a place where we could get some really food. Meat and fish, vegetables etc. It was nice not to default to cheeseburgers again. The next day the girls had about 4 hours of school at the theater. Although I do know they need school it would have been nice too if they had the day entirely for themselves prior to the show that evening. I am just amazed how hard these little kids work. Between school and work they are kept pretty busy. The adults have the time off during the day when the kids are at school. We found a nice farmers market across from the theater for lunch break during school. The theater was beautiful. It was one of the older theaters restored. The acoustics were great. They put out red carpets into the theater and balloons and had clowns etc for the kids in the audience prior to the show. Also, one of the clowns gave everyone in the cast a small teddy bear. It was really nice. I wished we could have stayed there; it was a really nice place. The tough part was that the call time for the bus the next morning was 7am. Ugh! Life on tour.
