We finally arrived in Orlando ... Yeah! ... the official opening. I think everyone was ready to get the tour started. Opening night was sold out! The theater was really nice too. Of course, I personally can pass on Florida weather in September. It was about 95 degrees everyday and extremely humid. I burn easily and pretty much try to stay out of the sun. Everyday it poured rain, a couple of times a day. It would just last about a half an hour but you would think all the rain in the world was coming down at once. The girls went on two field trips for school that week. Since the rest of the tour is pretty hectic they got special permission to do 2 field trips in a single week. On Monday we went to Epcot. They spent a lot of time at all the countries learning about the culture. It really was very educational. I would have never thought a Disney park could be so educational but the teacher had put together a packet with questions and an education scavenger hunt. All the girls had a great time. Once school was dismissed around 3pm then Abby and I and a couple of the other girls and chaperones went on Test Track, a very fast car ride in Epcot. It was so so much fun. Prior to the ride, Abby talked to one of the Disney people to check to see if it was very very scary. The nice thing is that the Disney person liked Abby so much she offered for us and the rest of the kids to not wait in line and go up the back way and just get on the ride. Then we took the tram over to the Disney Park. Abby is usually pretty tentative when it comes to rides, but this trip she was all out to try some new things. We did Splash Mountain which we both got soaked. We both loved it. I ended up buying her a new t-shirt and shorts to dry off. Then she wanted to try Thunder Mountain, again, she loved it. She thought she was ready for Space Mountain. I really did not want to go on it but thought I should with her. Well, neither of us loved it but I do not think we will do it again.
As far as the shows go, most every show was sold out. The audience was great and the reviews were very good. We left on Monday to fly to Baltimore to pick up our tour bus and then drive out to York, PA. More to come!
